Do you Charter every day?
Deep Water Charter runs seven days a week depending on bookings weather and boating conditions. Out of Cape Canaveral we charter fish all year round with different seasons bringing different species. Whoever books first on a date decides if the charter fishing trip on that day will be a half day, full day, or night, fishing charter.

What happens if there is unsafe weather and boating conditions?
We require customers to confirm and leave a contact number so that Deep Water Charter can make sure the boating conditions will be safe out of Port Canaveral and make contact if there is any change.  If the Cape Canaveral fishing charter is canceled by Deep Water Charter due to unsafe boating conditions, the charter is transferred to another day or deposit is refunded.

Do you cater for individuals and groups?

Yes, we cater for both individual and group bookings. You do not need a minimum to book. Deep Water Charter can cater for up to 6 passengers; however we can arrange another boat out of Port Canaveral to partner for groups with more than 6 anglers.


How far in advance to I need to book my Cape Canaveral fishing charter?

Our weekend bookings book out about 4-6 weeks in advance, 2-4 weeks in advance during winter. Our midweek bookings generally book out 2-3 days in advance. These are general estimates only. During December and Christmas holidays and School holiday periods you will need to book at least 7-10 days in advance for a midweek booking. At times we do have cancellations and availability for smaller groups or individuals within these periods so please call to check.

Where does the boat depart from?
The Cape Canaveral Charter Fishing Boat departs from Port Canaveral across from the Cruise Terminals next to Cape Canaveral and Cocoa beach 45 Minutes from Orlando. Directions and maps are on our Directions page.

What do I need to bring?
Cape Canaveral Fishing charters are all inclusive however we have a few hints of what to bring & wear. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera, and sensible clothing. There is a lot of water on the deck throughout the day so if decide to wear shoes, wear some you don’t mind getting wet. You can BYO alcohol if you wish. If you have a long drive home you may want to bring a cooler to keep your fish in. Please keep empty coolers in your car as they do take up deck room. We cannot supply seasickness tablets or any other medications on board. We recommend all passengers take seasickness tablets the night before in which you can purchase from a Drug Store over the counter at minimal cost.

Can we bring Beer to drink on our Fishing Charter?

Yes, You are quite welcome to bring Beer with you. Our Port Canaveral Marina does sell Beer and drinks in the store. We have a large icebox and refrigerator on deck in which you can store you drinks.

How long does it take to get to the fishing grounds?
It takes about 20-40 minutes to get to the half day fishing grounds and about 1 Hour to get to the full day fishing grounds, Usually we start fishing immediately after leaving Port Canaveral to target species like King mackerel, Triple Tail and Cobia.

Are there accommodation close to Cape Canaveral?
Yes, there are plenty of accommodations close to Cape Canaveral, Port Canaveral along A1A down to Cocoa Beach within 1 mile. Also keep in mind that we are only 30 minutes from the Orlando air port and 50 minutes from Disney. We have a list of some hotels if you need to make arraignments. If you are considering staying in a hotel please bear in mind when booking these hotels that we are dependent on the weather and confirmation of the Fishing Charter departing takes place the night prior to your booking. If your intention to come to Cape Canaveral is based solely on fishing its best to wait until we have confirmed
the weather to book your hotel.

Do I have to be experienced?
Absolutely not, we cater to both experienced fishermen and fisher women and novices alike. We assist you in learning techniques of fishing and experienced Mate can answer any of your questions and he is on hand to help you with all of your needs throughout your Cape Canaveral fishing charter.

Can you take more than 6 passengers on your fishing charter boat?
Your fishing charter can take up to 6 passengers. If you need a fishing charter for more than 6 passengers, Deep Water Charter can arrange more fishing charter boats here at Cape Canaveral or Cocoa beach at 6 per charter boat for your group.

Do we pay a deposit?
No, to secure a booking we require card number. Credit card numbers by Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are held without a charge in place of a Deposit. If you decide you can pay a 200 dollar deposit if you do not want to hold it with a card. All cancellations must be made 7 days in advance of the Charter to avoid a 200 dollar charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of charter will be billed 50% of the charter price. For all cancellations by Deep Water Charter for any reason, there will not be a charge. Our business address is

Do I get to keep my deep sea fishing catch?
Of course you get to keep your catch. All your fish get there picture taken with you and are cleaned, bagged and ice in your cooler for your trip home. Recreational bag limits do apply.

Do I need a Florida fishing license?
No, Deep Water Charter provides the Florida fishing licenses.

Do you supply fishing rods and reels?
Deep Water Fishing Charter supplies all your charter fishing equipment and bait.

Can seasickness tablets stop me from being sick and do you supply them?
In most cases seasickness tablets can prevent you from getting sick. We cannot supply sea sickness tablets or any other medications on board. If you wish to take seasickness tablets to reduce the risk of being sick you will need to purchase these in advance of your fishing charter date. We recommend you to take one tablet the night before and another tablet 1 hour before boarding the boat. Please notify the Captain of any medical needs or concerns prior to the fishing date, and if you or someone in your party have any special needs while on your Cape Canaveral Fishing Charter.
